The Perk Ramsay Acts of Service Award
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick is pleased to present the first (2019) Perk Ramsay Acts of Service Award. This award recognizes an individual in our community who has gone above and beyond to support our organization in a creative way. The award’s namesake, Perk Ramsay, is a long-time resident of Bath and an employee of Rocky’s (formerly Roger’s) Hardware. Since 2010, Perk has managed and operated an indoor yard sale at the hardware store to benefit BBBS. Through her efforts to-date, Perk has gifted the organization over $23,000. Perk organizes the sale monthly with support from other Rocky’s employees and its management, her family, and the community donations she receives of small goods such as books and housewares. Her volunteer fundraising has generated a monthly residual income for our organization that really adds up and supports 2-3 Big and Little match relationships each year! We are so grateful to recognize those in the community that follow Perk’s lead providing acts of service and are pleased to present the first award to Perk herself.
The Leadership Award is presented to a community leader in recognition of their ability to enlist, support, and empower others – through volunteerism, committee work, public advocacy, fundraising events and/or special projects – for the betterment of youth facing adversity.
