Finding New Ways to Reach More Children

We know that the children served by our mentoring programs represent far less than those who could benefit from having a one-to-one mentor. That is why we continue to develop innovative new programs to provide more Bigs for more Littles in the communities we serve.

Bigs in Blue

Bigs In Blue

Bigs in BlueSM is a one-to-one mentoring program that connects youth with police in their communities, building strong, trusting, lasting relationships. These relationships help build stronger bonds between law enforcement and the families they serve. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick is currently partnering with the City of Bath Police Department and hopes to expand the program to other departments in the future.

Bears and Cubs

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick  partners with Bowdoin’s McKeen Center to match Bowdoin students with local children  to share time and friendship.  This program takes place on 10 to 12 Sunday afternoons throughout the academic year on the Bowdoin campus.  Activities include games, crafts, sports, swimming, projects and more.
